Former Tianjin mayor expelled from top legislature

Xinhua, December 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Huang Xingguo, former acting Party chief and mayor of Tianjin Municipality, has been dismissed from his post as deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC), the local legislature said.

The resolution on Huang's dismissal was passed by the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal People's Congress at a meeting held on Thursday.

The decision will be submitted to the NPC Standing Committee for filing and announcement.

Huang was removed from his positions as acting Party chief and mayor of Tianjin in September, and is under investigation over allegations of "serious disciplinary violations." Endi
