Wizards edge Hornets 109-106

John Wall and Bradley Beal combined for 45 points as the Washington Wizards came back to beat the Charlotte Hornets 109-106 here on Wednesday.

Wall finished with 25 points and 10 assists, along with seven steals. Beal, 0 for 6 in the first half, grabbed 20 points and a career-high nine assists.

Charlotte cut the deficit to two points after Cody Zeller making a layup with 10.6 seconds left. Wall made one of two free throws a second later to put the lead to three point and Nicolas Batum and Walker both missed three-pointers that would have tied the game.

Batum led the Hornets with 20 points. Kemba Walker had 17 points and 9 assists for the Charlotte, which suffered their third consecutive loss. Charlotte (14-12) is 0-3 to start a five-game road trip after losses at Cleveland on Saturday, then at Indiana on Monday. Endit
