Paris CAC 40 index fells 0.72 pct Wednesday

In the aftermath of a new annual peak of above 4,800 pts, the benchmark French stock market index CAC 40 fell 0.72 percent to close at 4,769,24 on Wednesday.

All eyes are turned to the U.S. Federal Reserve System which will publish its monetary statement this evening following its Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting.

Ekinops increased by 10 percent after winning a first order from one of the leading telecommunications operators in the United States. NRJ Group rose by 7.0 percent after announcing the acquisition by M6 of the radios of the RTL group.

Genticel, on the other hand, fell by 8.1 percent, Vivendi lost 2.5 percent, and BNP lost 1.9 percent. Endit
