Mainland-Macao trade drops by 31.6 percent: ministry

The trade volume between the Chinese mainland and Macao dropped by 31.6 percent year on year from January to October this year, the Ministry of Commerce said Wednesday.

Mainland-Macao trade volume from January to October stood at 2.69 billion U.S. dollars, including 2.58 billion U.S. dollars of exports from the mainland to Macao.

From January to October, the mainland approved 597 projects invested by business people from Macao, an 80.4 percent increase compared with the same period last year, while mainland non-financial direct investment in Macao was 430 million U.S. dollars.

The mainland received 3.35 billion U.S dollars investment from Macao from January to October, up 291.4 percent year-on-year. Endi
