German exports in Oct. fall notably year-on-year

German exports in October fell 4.1 percent year-on-year, while imports were also down by 2.2 percent, official data showed on Friday.

According to the provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office Destatis, the value of exported goods in October amounted to 101.5 billion euros (107.6 billion U.S. dollars) and the value of imported goods in October came to 82.2 billion euros.

Meanwhile, exports and imports increased separately by 0.5 percent and 1.3 percent from September after calendar and seasonal adjustment.

In addition, the foreign trade balance showed a surplus of 19.3 billion euros in October, but in calendar and seasonally-adjusted terms, the foreign trade balance recorded a surplus of 20.5 billion euros. (1 euro = 1.06 U.S. dollars) Endit
