Chinese account for 77 percent of foreign labor force in Kyrgyzstan

Some 77 percent of all foreign workers in Kyrgyzstan are Chinese citizens, the press service of the State Migration Service of the country reported on Thursday.
During 11 months of 2016, Kyrgyzstan reviewed 2,380 applications to attract foreign labor power to the Kyrgyz Republic, 1,836 of them were approved. Government of Kyrgyzstan established the quota for foreigners in 2016 with 14,490 people and 11,751 foreign experts receiving permits.
In total, representatives of 79 countries from around the world received labor quota. China is leading the list of foreign labor power, representatives of the country account for 77 percent of the total amount of foreign labor force. Following China, are numbers of citizens of Turkey - 8.6 percent, the Republic of Korea - 2.3 percent, Ukraine - 1,7 percent, Pakistan - 1.5 percent, USA - 1.2 percent, India - 0.8 percent, and Uzbekistan - 0.7 percent.
Chinese citizens work in such areas as reconstruction of roads, construction and reconstruction of thermal power station in Bishkek, processing of petroleum, oil production, gas and gold.
All of these projects in Kyrgyzstan have been implementing through grants and loans allocated by China. Enditem
