Russian Airborne Troops to join international drills next year

Russian airborne troops will join international military drills in 2017, Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry's press service, about 1,000 soldiers from the Russian Airborne Troops will join tactical, strategic,anti-terrorism and special exercises with units of foreign countries' armies next year.

The 2017 drills will be conducted in Armenia, Nicaragua and Belarus.

This year, Russian Airborne Troops have taken part in 15 joint drills on Russian territory and abroad, and have conducted more than 40 visits and meetings with military representatives from The Commonwealth of Independent States, Europe, North Africa, South America and South-East Asia, according to Russian Defense Ministry.
