2 killed, 2 seriously injured as landslides hits Banten of western Indonesia

Landslides hitting Banten province of western Indonesia has left 2 people dead with 2 others suffering from serious wounds, local disaster agency official disclosed on Tuesday.

Days of heavy downpours had triggered landslides in Cikatomas village of Lebak district, said Entis Sutisna, senior official at the provincial disaster agency.

"The landslides struck one house and killed 2 persons. Two others have been rushed and treated in a nearby health clinic for their serious injuries," Mr. Entis told Xinhua by phone from Banten province.

Indonesia has been frequently hit by landslide and flood during heavy rains. Endit
