81 percent of German internet users go online with mobilephone: official data

A total of 81 percent of about 62 million German internet users went online with cellular or smartphone in the first quarter of 2016, official data showed on Monday.
The Federal Statistical Office Destatis also reported that 69 percent of internet users surf with laptops or netbooks. The part of people who use desktop computers to access the internet is 65 percent.
Meanwhile, 19 percent of internet users surf the web through a smart TV. 17 percent used other mobile devices such as game consoles or e-book readers.
In addition, the data also showed that the people between 10 and 44 years old were nearly 100 percent online, while 93 percent of the people between 45 and 64 years old went online.
However, among the people from the age of 65 years old, the proportion of Internet users is relatively low, but rose sharply from 49 percent in 2015 to 55 percent in 2016. Endit
