Europol conducts cyber security drill

The European Police Office (Europol) has conducted a cyber security drill in cooperation with MasterCard to sharpen its abilities to deal with cyber attack, Europol said in a press release on Monday.

Held at Europol's headquarters in the Hague last week, the event involving sectors including police, the retail industry and banking aimed to help merchant customers understand the steps in case of a cyber attack.

Steven Wilson, head of Europol's European cybercrime centre, said the exercise highlighted the importance of the cooperation between public and private entities in ensuring a safe environment for European merchants. Endit
