A pregnant woman has become the first Zika patient in Vietnam's southern Dong Nai province, after the Ho Chi Minh City Pasteur Institute on Monday confirmed she has been tested positive to Zika virus.

The 24-year-old pregnant woman is from Dong Nai's Bien Hoa City. Provincial health agencies have disinfected her house's neighborhood and launched campaigns to kill mosquitos' larvae in many areas.

Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday confirmed four more Zika cases, increasing the total to 94, including 12 pregnant women, said the municipal Preventive Medicine Center.

Vietnam has so far detected 104 Zika cases, including 94 from Ho Chi Minh City, two each in Dak Lak, Binh Duong and Ba Ria Vung Tau provinces, and one in Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Long An and Dong Nai provinces respectively. Endit
