No re-entry needed for visa extension to Myanmar: immigration

Myanmar had amended visa extension requirement, the Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population said Friday.

According to the amendment, starting Thursday foreigners who want to extend their stay permit in the country no longer need to leave and re-enter the country and visa fees are raised , the ministry said.

According to the amendment,visitors holding Business Visa, Religious Visa, Social Visa, Official Visa , Education Visa and Crew Visa no longer need to show re-entry for visa extension.

The country allows 12 types of visa to foreigners to enter the country -- Gratis Diplomatic/Official Courtesy Visa, Tourist Visa, Business Visa,Social Visa ,Religious Visa, Transit Visa, Official Visa , Employment Visa, Education Visa, Journalist Visa, Crew Visa and Workshop/Seminar/ Meeting/ Research Visa.

To facilitate foreign visitors, the country also grants visa-on-arrival for Business Visa, Workshop/ Seminar/ Meeting/ Research Visa, Crew Visa and Transit Visa.

Moreover, visitors can apply e-visa for Tourist Visa and Business Visa. Enditem
