Singapore stocks close 0.31 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 9.21 points or 0.31 percent to close at 2,919.37.

A total of 1.74 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.24 billion Singapore dollars (868.2 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 223 to 202, while 679 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 23.41 points or 0.81 percent to close at 2,928.58 on Thursday. Endit
