Xinhua, December 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Three Turkish soldiers were killed in a clash with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the southeastern province of Hakkari early Friday, Dogan News Agency reported.

The clash, taking place between Turkish security forces and PKK militants in the Mt. Guven area, close to Turkey's border with Iraq, also wounded three others, Dogan said.

The military immediately struck back by air raids and killed many militants.

The Turkish government has intensified its counter-terror operations following the recent attacks carried out by the PKK, which is listed as a terrorist organization by the United States, the EU and Turkey. Endit
