Chinese vice president to attend Fidel Castro's memorial activities in Cuba

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao will attend memorial activities in Cuba for late Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castrol.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told a routine press briefing here on Tuesday that Li will attend as President Xi Jinping's special envoy.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, paid a visit to the Cuban Embassy in Beijing on Tuesday morning to pay his respects to Castro.
