Police kill drug trafficker, seize drug in eastern Afghanistan

Police during operations in the eastern Ghazni province have killed a drug trafficker and confiscated 375 kg of opium fro his possession, provincial police chief Aminullah Omarkhil said Tuesday.

The operations, according to the official, conducted in Andar district Monday night and discovered the contraband from a mini-bus.

However, he added that the drug trafficker opened fire on police triggering gun battle during which the trafficker was killed.

Police in Ghazni province have confiscated more than one tone illicit drug including opium and heroin during series of operations since begining this year, the police official said. Endit
