Building collapse in Lisbon kills two construction workers

Two men were killed after part of a building in central Lisbon collapsed on Monday, according to the Portuguese Authority for the Conditions of Work.

The victims, both Portuguese nationals, were construction workers who had been working on the building.

The area around the building, which was not inhabited and situated near Lisbon's Avenida de Liberdade, was cordoned off by police after the incident.

The cause of the building collapse has not been revealed. Authorities have not been able to access the building yet due to safety precautions. Enditem
