Albania on Monday celebrated its Independence Day which is on November 28, organizing several activities across the country.

State officials gathered in the southern coastal city of Vlora to mark the day.

The national flag was first raised in Vlora and for this reason, the ceremony of flag rising is always organized in the southern city.

Albanian President Bujar Nishani, Minister of Defense Mimi Kodheli, local government authorities and residents of the coastal city and other cities attended the flag raising ceremony in the city's square.

To mark the Independence Day, many municipalities across the country organized a series of concerts and other festive events that will conclude with an outdoor concert at the Independence square late in the evening, local media reported. Endit
