Nepal has expressed condolences over the loss of lives in construction platform collapse in China's Jiangxi Province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.

In their separate condolence messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister K.P Sharma Oli expressed sympathy to the bereaved family members through the Chinese government while wishing for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident, the ministry said. SUVA -- Forty-five percent of all projects registered with Fiji's investment authorities for the first six months of the year 2016 are from China, Fijian Trade Minister Faiyaz Koya said Saturday.

Moreover, most of the projects implemented in Fiji over the last two years are from China, Koya said at a seminar for Chinese investors held in the Fijian capital of Suva, which aims to further boost trade ties between the two countries. (Fiji-Investment-China)

BERLIN -- Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong agreed with German Chancellor Angela Merkel here Friday to set up a high-level cultural exchange mechanism at the earliest possible date.

The Chinese vice premier was in the German capital to take part in the seventh Hamburg Summit, held on Nov. 23-24, and the closing ceremony of the 2016 Sino-German Youth Exchange Year. (Germany-China-Liu Yandong) Endi
