Turkey's Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu arrived here on Saturday morning for political talks with Iranian senior officials, official IRNA news agency reported.

Cavusoglu will meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to discuss the latest developments in the region.

Situations in Syria and Iraq would be at the agenda of talks between Iranian officials and Cavusoglu, it said.

Despite differences over the ongoing political and military situations in Syria and Iraq, Turkey and Iran have had close relations, particularly in economic sectors, over the past years. Endit
