Fredette scores 32 points as Shanghai overwhelms Fujian in CBA league

Jimmer Fredette hit a game-high 32 points, leading Shanghai to beat Fujian 111-108 and top the table in the 10th round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league regular season action here on Friday.

Fujian opened the game with a 12-5 run while the visiting team turned the tide before the end of the first quarter. Thanks for crucial 3-pointers, Shanghai built up a solid lead since the beginning of the third quarter and kept it till the end.

Shanghai' s Fredette and Guerschon Yabusele made fifteen 3-pointers out of 22 attempts and Fredette grabbed 11 rebounds and 7 assists as well. Fujian' s Wang Zhelin finished with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Elsewhere on Friday, Xinjiang snapped its two-game losing streak after hammering Jilin 139-117. Xinjiang's new signing Ben Bentil had a superb performance in his first game for his team with 28 points.

Five other Xinjiang players scored double digits, including its center Zhou Qi who got a team-high 29 points. While Jilin' s Malcolm Thomas and J.A. Brown combined for 65 points.

In other action of the day, Tongxi lost to Beijing 100-111, Shandong edged Guangzhou 86-81, Guangsha beat Shanxi 129-117. Endit
