1st LD Writethru: Senior police official among 4 people injured as blast rocks Afghan eastern Jalalabad city

At least four people including a senior police official were injured in a blast that rocked eastern Jalalabad city on Friday, spokesman for provincial government, Attaullah Khogiani said.

"The blast occurred behind the gate of the house of a police official Abdul Hakim at around 10:50 a.m. local time today injuring four persons including Abdul Hakim," Khogiani told Xinhua.

Without giving more details, the official said that investigation is underway to determine the reason for the blast.

Similar attack against police in the neighboring Laghman province claimed the life of police personnel on the same day Friday. Enditem
