Albania launches national campaign to fight violence against women

Xinhua, November 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

Albanian government on Thursday unveiled its national strategy aimed at fighting violence against women, the government's press office said in a press release.

Speaking at a conference organized for the occasion, the Albanian minister of social welfare Blendi Klosi appealed for women in Albania to speak up and denounce violence.

The national campaign against violence against women was launched under the slogan: "I choose to live without violence."

Klosi announced a new protection mechanism offered by the Albanian government to all women. There will be a counseling line that will offer advice for how society can live without violence, he said.

The campaign, considered as a national call to prevent and report gender-based and domestic violence, introduces the solutions and dedicated services for victims of violence. Enditem
