Afghan president meets Kazakh foreign minister

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on Thursday met with visiting Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov, the Presidential Palace said.

The two sides discussed issues on regional infrastructure, including extension of railways, transit, development of human resources, effective use of regional economic opportunities and regional cooperation during their meeting held in Afghan Presidential Palace, the palace said in a statement.

They also discussed the fight against terrorism, the statement said, adding that the two emphasized the importance of regional cooperation.

Earlier in the day, the top Kazakh diplomat also met with his Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani and discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral ties. Endit
