Malta has lowest rate of road fatalities in EU in 2015

The European Union's statistics agency confirmed on Friday that in 2015 Malta had lowest rate of road fatalities relative to the population in the EU.
Eurostat said there were 2.6 road traffic victims reported in Malta per 100,000 inhabitants, closely followed by Sweden with 2.7 and Britain with 2.8.
The highest rates were recorded in Bulgaria with 9.8 road traffic victims in the country per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the agency.
While Malta registered a 10 percent increase in the number of road fatalities in 2015 compared with 2014, there was a rise in the number of road traffic victims in the majority of EU states, with the highest increase, 26.7 percent, being observed in Cyprus. Endit
