Bob Dylan, winner of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature, will not talk to the press, should he come to Stockholm to pick his award up in December, Swedish TT news agency reported on Tuesday.
Dylan has yet to confirm whether or not he will attend the Nobel awards ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall on December 10, but his staff have told the Swedish Academy that, should he come to Sweden, he will not hold any press conference or offer any interview to journalists, news agency TT reported Tuesday.
According to TT, Dylan has vowed to hold some form of lecture within six months of the awards ceremony, which is followed by a lavish banquet at the Stockholm City Hall.
It was on October 13 that the Swedish Academy announced that the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature had been awarded to Bob Dylan "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition."
The Swedish Academy said on Oct. 28 that Bob Dylan called the Academy and said that he accepted the prize. "The news about the Nobel Prize left me speechless", Dylan added,"I appreciate the honor so much." Endit
