British FTSE 100 rises 0.53 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.53 percent, or 36.23 points, to 6,843.13 points.

Share price of Associated British Foods increased by 5.79 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. BHP Billiton, Antofagasta, Mediclinic International and Anglo American increased by 4.71 percent, 4.25 percent, 2.76 percent and 2.72 percent respectively.

Marks & Spencer Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.16 percent, following by Imperial Brands (3.00 percent), Barratt Developments (1.62 percent), Persimmon (1.48 percent) and London Stock Exchange Group (1.09 percent). Endit
