Indian plane makes emergency landing in Pakistan

Xinhua, November 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

An Indian Jet Airways' plane made an emergency landing in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi on Tuesday after a passenger faced a medical emergency on the flight, local media reported.

The Samaa News reported that the aircraft, which was on its way to Doha from Indian capital of New Delhi, was diverted to Karachi airport after the passenger suffered the health issue.

"Our flight 9W 202 of Nov. 7, 2016 from Delhi to Doha was diverted to Karachi due to a medical health emergency on board. Since one of the guests developed a medical condition, the captain decided to land at the nearest airport, given the emergency," the Jet Airways said on its twitter account.

"Medical assistance was duly coordinated prior to the flight's arrival, however, the guest succumbed on arrival in Karachi," the company said.

After completing the medical procedures, the aircraft left for New Delhi on Tuesday morning.

The airline said that the passengers onboard will be accommodated for Doha on alternate flights. Endit
