Direct flight connects China's Xi'an, Melbourne

China's Hainan Airlines on Tuesday began services connecting Xi'an, capital of the northwestern Shaanxi Province, with Melbourne, Australia.
The flight by A330 aircraft is scheduled twice a week, said Wei Changrong, fight safety director of the airline.
The new route has brought total of international air routes from Xi'an to 41, serving 18 countries and regions.
Xi'an was the eastern terminus of the ancient Silk Road, and one of the oldest imperial capitals of ancient China. With its precious historical heritage, including the famous Terracotta Warriors, the city is a major cultural center attracting millions of tourists every year. Endi
