Kvitova, Svitolina into WTA Zhuhai final

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina reached the championship battle against Petra Kvitova at the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai after coming back from a set down to oust No.1 seed Johanna Konta here on Saturday.

Konta broke twice to dominate the first set 6-2. But Svitolina opened the second set with a break and raced to a 5-0 lead and eventually won 6-1. In the deciding set, Svitolina turned a 1-3 deficit to a 6-4 victory by breaking the Briton twice.

In an earlier semifinal clash, No. 3 seed Petra Kvitova from the Czech Republic eased past wildcard and Chinese No. 1 Zhang Shuai, 6-2, 6-2, to advance into the final. Enditem
