Industrial producer prices rise in both eurozone, EU in September

Industrial producer prices rose by 0.1 percent in the 19-member euro area and by 0.2 percent in the 28-member European Union (EU) in September compared with the previous month, official figures showed on Friday.

On an annual basis, industrial producer prices decreased by 1.5 percent in the euro area and by 1.1 percent in the EU, according to estimates released by Eurostat, the EU's statistical office.

The monthly increase in the euro area is due to rises of 0.2 percent in the energy sector, of 0.1 percent for both durable and non-durable consumer goods, while prices remained stable for both intermediate goods and capital goods.

In the EU bloc, industrial producer prices increased due to rises of 0.4 percent in the energy sector, and of 0.2 percent for non-durable consumer goods and of 0.1 percent for durable consumer goods, while prices for both intermediate goods and capital goods remained stable. Endit
