German police arrest Syrian suspected of being member of terror group in Berlin

A Syrian man suspected of being a member of a foreign terrorist organization was arrested, the State Criminal Police Office in Berlin announced on their twitter account on Wednesday night.

The man, according to his own statement, was 27 years old, and has been in Germany since 2015. He was arrested in an apartment in the district of Schoeneberg in Berlin.

The German federal public prosecutor has begun the investigation.

"An investigation has been initiated and we are now waiting to see what can be found in the apartment," said a spokeswoman to the German local media Focus Online.

According to information from Focus Online, the hint that led to the arrest of the Syrian came from a foreign intelligence service. Endit
