Number of unemployed in Germany fall to 2.54 mln in Oct.

Germany's unemployed population fell obviously in October to 2.54 million, the Federal Employment Agency of Germany announced on Wednesday.

Compared to the number in September, the unemployment figure in October fell by 68,000 to 2.54 million, which is 109,000 less than that in October 2015, according to the figures of the Nuremberg-based agency.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate declined to 5.8 percent nationwide, 0.1 percent less than that in September, it added.

"The labor market developed well in October," said Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the agency, adding that unemployment has fallen significantly, employment has risen again and the demand for new employees continued to grow. Endit
