Singapore stocks close 0.23 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 6.55 points, or 0.23 percent, to close at 2,807.14.

A total of 1.31 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1 billion Singapore dollars (721.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 240 to 119, while 538 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 0.18 points, or 0.01 percent, to close at 2,813.69 on Tuesday. Endit
