Alexey Lutsenko wins queen stage in Tour of Hainan 2016

Kazakh rider Alexey Lutsenko claimed a flawless victory on the 8th stage of Tour of Hainan 2016 in Qiongzhong, almost secured the title of this annual tournament.

Made up of four climbs, the 8th stage is also called as the Queen Stage in Tour of Hainan 2016, and the tough ride nearly cut the peloton into pieces after riding 50 kilometers. Finally, the 20-man breakaway leading by Lutsenko became the first group passing the finish line timing 4:13:50.

Alexey Lutsenko, entrenches his advantage on general classification by the victory on this stage, while Max Walscheid of Team Giant - Alpecin and Chinese rider Ma Guangtong of Wistom - Hengxiang Cycling Team keep the green and polka - dot jersey respectively.

"Thanks to my teammates' hard work, that I am able to win the ride today. I still own the yellow jersey by now, so the most important work for us tomorrow is controlling the ride rhythm to secure the title of the tournament." Lusenko said.

The 8th stage stretched from Sanya to Qiongzhong, covering a total distance of 165.8 kilometers with four climbs and one intermediate sprint. And the last stage shall be taken place on Oct. 30, Sunday, from Qiongzhong to Wanning, covering a total distance of 145.5 kilometers. Enditem
