Lebanon seizes huge amount of Captagon pills bound for Saudi

Xinhua, October 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces seized a big amount of drug smuggling to Saudi Arabia, the National News Agency (NNA) reported on Tuesday.

According to the NNA report, a truck coming from Syria that contained a huge amount of Captagon pills bound to be shipped to Saudi Arabia was seized in the northern port of Tripoli.

Captagon is classified as an "amphetamine-type stimulant" and usually blends amphetamines, caffeine and other substances.

Earlier this year, the Lebanese authorities said they had seized in coordination with Saudi Arabia 12 million Captagon capsules.

Lebanon arrested last year a Saudi prince and four other Saudi nationals for attempting to smuggle out nearly two tons of Captagon via Rafik Hariri International Airport. Endit
