Singapore stocks close 0.09 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2.63 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 2,854.05.

A total of 1.49 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 765.4 million Singapore dollars (550.3 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 230 to 171, while 497 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 25.62 points, or 0.9 percent, to close at 2,856.68 on Monday. Endit
