The word we talk about today is ” National Award of Poverty Alleviation”.

Since the reform and opening up policy was adopted, China has organized a series of large scale and well-planned activities aiming at reducing poverty and promoting development. As of today, great achievements have been made. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as General Secretary has put development-oriented poverty alleviation to an important position, and upgraded it to a new height of concerning the building of a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way and the accomplishment of the first Centenary Goal.

On August 9, 2016, the National Coordination Group of Appraisal and Award gave an official reply that it is approved by the Central Committee that during the Fight against Poverty in the 13th Five-year Plan, an annual rewarding for the National Award of Poverty Alleviation will be held by the Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development. The awards include the award of striving, the award of contribution, the award of dedication and the award of innovation. Each award may have no more than ten winners.

The set of the National Award of Poverty Alleviation marks the establishment of the national poverty alleviation honor system. It fully embodies the high attention to poverty alleviation given by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and the full affirmation of the people from all walks of life who participate in poverty alleviation.
