Bulgaria reports 1.7 pct gov't deficit in 2015

Bulgaria's government institutional sector reported in 2015 a deficit of 1.490 billion BGN (830 million U.S. dollars) or 1.7 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), officials said Friday.

According to the final data of the country's National Statistical Institute, the deficit in the central government and the local government sub-sector amounted to 0.7 percent of GDP and 0.9 percent of GDP respectively.

Meanwhile, the government debt of Bulgaria for 2015 was 26 percent of GDP.

The deficit of the general government institutional sector in 2014, 2013 and 2012 was 5.5 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent of GDP respectively, while the government debt stood at 27 percent, 17 percent and 16.7 percent of GDP respectively. Endit
