Singapore stocks close almost flat

Singapore stocks finished lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 2 points, or 0.07 percent, to close at 2,842.62.

A total of 1.56 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 887.5 million Singapore dollars (638.9 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 180 to 158, while 561 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 13.99 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 2,844.62 on Wednesday. Endit
