A court in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has sentenced Nedzad Mujic to one year in prison for providing financial and other assistance to Islamic State (IS) fighters in Syria, local media reported on Wednesday.

Mujic was found guilty because from September 2013 until mid-2015, he went to Syria on several occasions and extended financial and other support and also participated in the activities of the terrorist group Islamic State, knowing the United Nations Security Council had declared it a terrorist organization.

Mujic was arrested in mid-August this year by police officers from the State Investigation and Protection Agency in the area of Zvornik, northeast of BiH. Endit
