Thousands of Filipinos protest in front of U.S. Embassy in Manila

Thousands of people took part in a protest rally in front of the U.S. Embassy here in Manila on Wednesday.

The protesters denounced the continued foreign domination of the country. Police used tear gas and truncheons to disperse the crowd.

Renato Reyes, a protest leader, said the rally turned violent when a police car reportedly rammed into the protesters, leaving several injured.

At least 21 protesters were arrested and brought to a police station after the dispersal, according to the protest leader. Endit
