Iran to stage large-scale air drills

Xinhua, October 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran's air forces will begin three-day drills in the central province of Isfahan on Monday, Press TV reported Sunday.

A variety of interceptor aircraft and fighter jets will take part in the maneuvers code-named Fada'eeyan-e Harim-e Velayat 6 (Devotees of the Velayat Sanctuary 6), said the spokesman for the drills, Brigadier General Massoud Rouzkhosh.

Rouzkhosh said that transport planes, reconnaissance aircraft, refueling planes and different types of drones will also take part in the drills.

The drills are aimed to display the capabilities of Iran's air forces in protecting the country's airspace, he added.

Iran holds annual drills to boost its strength to defend the country in the face of threats. Endit
