Lao officials trained for China-Laos railway

Xinhua, October 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

As many as 30 Lao officials have attended a training course to improve their knowledge on railway systems in preparation of the China-Laos railway project, Lao state-run KPL news agency reported Wednesday.

The governments of both countries attach high importance to the specialized training as it will help Lao technical staff prepare for the China-Laos railway project.

Some work on the historic railway project linking Vientiane with the Chinese border was already underway, said Vice Chairman of Lao-China Cooperation Commission under the Ministry of Planning and Investment Khenethong Sisouvong on Tuesday.

"We hope that all trainees will learn and gain technical knowledge from this course to effectively use in real practice, contributing to the construction of the China-Laos railway project," Khenethong added.

The 30-day training course, the second of its kind in Laos, was supported by the Chinese government. Endit
