Abducted Nigerian students regain freedom: police

Xinhua, October 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Four students abducted last week from a college in Nigeria's southwestern state of Lagos have regained freedom from their kidnappers, the police said on Wednesday.

The students were freed late Tuesday, together with their college's vice principal and a teacher, the police said in a statement reaching Xinhua.

"The victims were all hale and hearty," the statement said.

The victims were kidnapped by unknown gunmen last Thursday during morning assembly at the Lagos Model College in Epe district of the metropolitan city.

Abduction, usually for ransom, is not uncommon in Nigeria. Endit
