Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for strengthened and innovative social governance, stressing the need to improve systems that prevent and forecast risk.

Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks in a prepared statement about the country's social management, publicized on Wednesday. The statement was delivered by Meng Jianzhu, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, at a national conference on public security governance held on October 10 and 11.

"More effort should be made to build a safe China at a higher level and further enhance people's sense of security," Xi said. Endi
