China backs Lebanon to persue stability and sound development

Xinhua, October 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

China hopes that Lebanon would exit from its crisis very soon in order to bring its political life back on track, said the Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon on Tuesday.

Wang Kejian made the remarks after meeting with director of Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), Laure Sleiman, adding that "NNA was playing an important role in the media field and delivering information from its source."

China is supporting the Lebanese economy and its people amid crisis, and is aiding displaced Syrians in the country, Wang said.

He also noted that a convention has been signed and will be activated between NNA and China's Xinhua News Agency.

Sleiman confirmed the activation of the convention, and thanked the ambassador for donations to the NNA.

Wang highlighted various cooperation prospects between the two countries at cultural and humanitarian levels, notably, art, music, drama and Chinese language.

He also mentioned constant connection between the two countries at the political level, as with Lebanon's foreign affairs minister, and some other high officials.

At the economic level, he added, China has been a major trade partner for Lebanon for three years. Endit
