Senior Chinese military officials vow to build clean army

Xinhua, October 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Senior Chinese military officials on Monday called for strong determination to build a clean army.

Fan Changlong and Xu Qiliang, both vice chairmen of the Central Military Commission (CMC), made the remarks at a meeting planning out the work on rooting out the negative influence of the corruption cases of former CMC vice chairmen Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou.

The meeting, which was held in Beijing, was attended by Party chiefs of all military units and CMC departments.

It has been a serious and urgent task to eliminate the influence of Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou in the military, said Fan, stressing that, in an effort to build a strong army, the work should be done in accordance with the requirements and the time schedule put forward by the CMC.

Xu Qiliang urged the military to stay clear-minded and remain determined in clearing up the bad influence of Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou and fighting against corruption in the army. Endit
