Russia suspends cooperation agreement with the United States in scientific research and developments in the nuclear and energy areas, the Russian government said Wednesday.

"The actions taken by the United States related to the introduction of sanctions against Russia have directly affected the areas of cooperation under the agreement," it said in a statement.
