Spanish stock market rises 0.11 pct, closes at 8,778 points

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 rose 0.11 percent on Wednesday to close at 8,778.30 points, up from the 8,769 points of Tuesday.

On Wednesday session, Caixabank shares led rises climbing 3.17 percent, followed by Banco Popular, Mapfre, BBVA, Bankia and Banco Sabadell that rose 2.45 percent, 2.18 percent, 2 percent, 1.91 percent and 1.67 percent respectively.

On the other hand, Merlin shares led falls losing 1.99 percent, followed by REC, AENA, Amadeus, Ferrovial and Gas Natural that lost 1.73 percent, 1.58 percent, 1.38 percent, 1.23 percent and 1.05 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, Spain's risk premium closed at 108.50 points and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate closed at 1.08 percent, both showing no big differences when compared with Tuesday closing time. Endit
